A note about the creations of Cecilia Lieder's prints:
These multi-color woodcuts and stone lithographs were created entirely by hand. No photographic reproduction processes were used in making them and they exist in their completed form only as original woodcuts or stone lithographs. The artist herself designed, drew, carved the blocks or processed the lithographic plates, and she printed all the images (unless otherwise noted). Each of the colors in these prints required a separate printing plate, which is keyed to the other plates and printed individually. For example, if a print contains eight colors and the edition size is 50 prints, there are no fewer than 400 separate printings involved in the production of the full edition. This is a selected sampling of the works of this artist.
